Biography:
Maria McGinnis currently works for the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences at UW-Madison as director of Employer Relations and Career Advising. Prior to joining the University, Maria worked in sales for World Dairy Expo, Inc - the nation's premier dairy industry trade and cattle event. She holds a master's degree in life sciences communication from UW-Madison, and a bachelor's degree in agricultural marketing and communications from UW-River Falls. Originally from St. Paul, Minnesota, Maria now lives in south central Wisconsin where she co-owns a small herd of Angus cattle. In her free time, Maria enjoys competing with her Arabian horse Ladd, walking her dog Peanut and being active in her community.

Description:
Food is a basic human need that takes a host of people to go from field to market. Both rural and urban students alike can have very rewarding careers in food and agriculture. This session will help students learn how to assess their interests in high school to see what a career in food or agriculture may look like for them. (Running Time 21:40)
