Biography:
Dr. Michael Petersen has a wide variety of experience working with both large and small animals within his veterinary practice and with zoo animals. Dr. Petersen received his degree in Veterinary Medicine in 1980 from Iowa State University. Upon graduating, he became an Associate Veterinarian the Sun Prairie Veterinary Clinic, a mixed animal practice. In 1983, Dr. Petersen opened Stoughton Veterinary Service an Animal Hospital in Stoughton, Wis. The full-service, small animal clinic involves multiple doctors working on a wide variety of pets. In addition to his private practice, Dr. Petersen also serves as the Director of Veterinary Services at the Henry Vilas Zoo in Madison, Wis., a position he has held since 1989.
