Ken Karwowski has been employed in welding, mechanics and/or welding training for more than 50 years. Ten of those years he was a construction journeyman pipefitter and welder. For the majority of his career he served as a full-time welding instructor in Wisconsin Technical Colleges, primarily at Gateway Technical College in Elkhorn, Wisconsin. Since 1991, Mr. Karwowski has also owned and operated his own business, A.R.K. Welding Inspection Services. He has a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Wisconsin and a Master of Education Degree from Colorado State University. Ken is an American Welding Society Certified Welding Inspector and in the past has been a Certified Welding Educator with AWS, which addresses manufacturing and construction. He is a member of the American Welding Society, where he has served in leadership roles at the district level. As well, he is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers which addresses piping and pressure vessel manufacturing and constructing. Ken is a Certified State of Wisconsin Structural Weld Tester qualified to give the State Structural Welding Test, as well as being a Wisconsin State Certified Welder.
Advances in technology, while grand in nature, don’t diminish the need for those who know how to fix it, build it or create it by hand. Welders are among the many skilled trades that are in high demand nationwide.
