Biography:
A Two Rivers native, Luke Sampe is the weekend evening meteorologist for WISN Ch.12 News in Milwaukee and provides weather coverage throughout the week. Luke has covered some of biggest weather events in recent Wisconsin history, including the Ground Hog Day 2011 Blizzard and the 2007 EF-3 tornado that ripped through much of the central and eastern parts of the state. Luke comes to WISN 12 from WJFW-TV, the NBC affiliate in Rhinelander, where he was chief meteorologist. He also interned at WTMJ-TV in Milwaukee and WGBA-TV in Green Bay. An AMS sealed meteorologist; Luke graduated from UW-Milwaukee with a Bachelors and Master degree in atmospheric science. Luke enjoys taking his knowledge of the atmosphere into the classroom. He has taught mathematics and weather classes at Nicolet Area Technical College, and UW-Milwaukee. He also visits local schools to teach students about the weather and how it impacts everyday life. Luke's devotion to weather is only topped by his devotion to his wife, who is a teacher in Port Washington, their two children.

From nice sunny days, to blizzard conditions, the life of a Wisconsin weather forecaster serves up a variety of challenges from season-to-season and even day-to-day. There is a lot of science know-how that goes into becoming a meteorologist. Luke Sampe earned degrees in atmospheric science in order to become a meteorologist.
